Pro Kabaddi League 2022: Venue For The Final, Semi-finals, and Eliminators announced

The organizers of the Pro Kabaddi League, Mashal Sports, confirmed that final phase of the competition will be staged at the Dome, NSCI - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Mumbai from December 13 to December 17, 2022.

The venue for the finals, semi-finals, and eliminator games of the Pro Kabaddi League 2022 have been announced on November 17, 2022. The organizers of the Pro Kabaddi League, Mashal Sports, confirmed that final phase of the competition will be staged at the Dome, NSCI – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Mumbai from December 13 to December 17, 2022. The announcement was made by the Head of Sports Leagues, Mashal Sports, and League Commissioner, Anupam Goswami during the press conference for the Hyderabad leg.

This edition of the Pro Kabaddi League followed a distinct structure. Unlike the previous seven seasons, Mashal Sports planned to keep the tournament’s league stage in only three cities. Originally, each franchise hosted the games in their home city for a week. Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad were awarded the rights to host PKL league matches this year. The organizers, however, did not reveal the location of the playoffs when it announced the league stage schedule.

After the end of the league stage, the top six teams in the Pro Kabaddi points table will progress to the playoffs. The play-offs will be from December 13 to December 17, 2022. The Eliminators 1 and 2 will be played on December 13, followed by Semi-final 1 and 2 on December 15. The grand finale of the 2022 edition will take place on December 17, 2022.

What Anupam Goswami said during the Press Release

In the media release,  Anupam stated, “Mumbai has always been a sport-loving city and especially a kabaddi-loving city. And therefore, we are very excited to organize the vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 Playoffs and Final in the City of Dreams. Of course, before the Playoffs and the Final, our prime focus will be to entertain the fans in Hyderabad. I look forward to kabaddi lovers in Hyderabad to make the most of watching their favorite stars in the stadium after a gap of three years.”

What Telugu Titans’ head coach Venkatesh Goud said

As the tournament headed to the final leg to be played at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, the head coach of the host team (Telugu Titans), Venkatesh Goud said, “We are very excited to play in front of our home fans in Hyderabad. The fans will certainly spur us on to put up great performances and we can’t wait to entertain them in the stadium. Hopefully, we’ll strike form in our home city.” The Titans are presently at the bottom of the points table with just one win in the 15 matches.
