Pro Kabaddi League 2021: U Mumba thrash Bengaluru Bulls in the first match of the season

U Mumba has a new poster boy in Abhishek Singh, who emerged as the highlight of the inaugural match of season 8.

U Mumba thrashed Bengaluru Bulls in the opening clash of season eight of the Pro Kabaddi League. Sultan Fazel Atrachali’s side defeated Pawan Kumar Sehrawat’s red army by a huge margin of 16 points. Abhishek Singh produced a dominating performance as he grabbed a staggering 19 points from 27 raids. His points helped U Mumba win the first game of Pro Kabaddi League 2021 by defeating Bengaluru Bulls 46-30. Mumba’s new poster boy Abhishek Singh emerged as the highlight of the inaugural match.

U MUMBA DOMINATE OPENING DAY

U Mumba coach Subramanian Rajaguru took a surprise decision to not include the Maharashtrian duo of Ajinkya Kapre and Sunil Siddhagawli even on the bench. Meanwhile, Randhir Singh Sehrawat brought new bulls Aman and Mayur Kadam in the defense line.

U Mumba captain Fazel Atrachali won the toss and asked the Bengaluru Bulls to raid. In the initial stages of the match, Bengaluru Bulls led 4-1, with captain Pawan Kumar Sehrawat picking up two bonus points. The first all-out was inflicted by U Mumba via Abishek Singh, who helped the team get a six-point advantage over the Bengaluru Bulls.

Bengaluru Bulls managed to score Pro Kabaddi 2021’s first super raid via Chandran Ranjit. Bulls captain Pawan Kumar Sehrawat was quick to take a review, and was successfully in it. The scores at the time were 12-10 in favour of U Mumba.

Abhishek Singh inflicted a super raid by getting three points and a bonus to prevent an all-out for U Mumba. U Mumba at the time lead 22-17, with Singh having achieved a Super 10 in the first half itself.

Early into the second half U Mumba inflicted the second all-out over Bengaluru Bulls to extend their lead by 10 points. Although Bulls captain Pawan Kumar Sehrawat had a super 10, he still did not have a good day as per his extremely high standards as he was sent to the bench on several occasions.

U Mumba continue their impressive performance by inflicting a super tackle on Chandran Ranjit. As a result of which they led by eight points.
