IPL 2022 PBKS vs GT: Shubman Gill, Rahul Tewatia fire Gujarat Titans to six-wicket win in last-ball thriller 

Rahul Tewatia hit two back to back sixes in the final over for GT to guide his side to a last-ball thrilling win over PBKS in the IPL 2022 on Friday.

Shubman Gill (96) notched up a match-winning knock to guide GT to six-wicket victory as they chased down the target of 190 runs in the IPL 2022 contest at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Friday.

Shubman Gill records highest IPL score 

Chasing a challenging target of 190 runs, Gill looked in good touch from the onset of the match. But he lost his opening partner Matthew Wade (6) early. 

However, he combined well with debutant B Sai Sudarsan (36), to forge a partnership of 101 runs for the second-wicket to keep GT in cruise control in the chase. 

Later, incoming batter and captain Hardik Pandya, scored a quick fire 27 off 18 deliveries which included five boundaries after PBKS regained momentum in the match. 

Rahul Tewatia hits 12 runs off two deliveries to win it for GT

David Miller, meanwhile, remained unbeaten on six runs off four deliveries. But Rahul Tewatia (13 not out off three deliveries) changed the match as he smashed two consecutive sixes, while needing 12 runs off two deliveries, to help his side sail over the line. 

For Punjab Kings, Kagiso Rabada, returned figures of 2/35. 

Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma forge important partnership

Earlier, asked to bat, Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal (5), once again looked out of touch as he mistimed a short-pitched delivery to lose his wicket early. However, his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan (35), showed resilience in his 30-ball knock which was laced with four boundaries. 

Later wicket keeper-batter Jonny Bairstow could only add eight runs to the team tally. 

However, Livingstone, continued to anchor the innings and was well supported by a quick fire cameo from Jitesh Sharma (23). 

Sharma hit one boundary and two hits over the fence in his 11-ball stay while the Englishman smashed seven boundaries and four hits over the fence in his 27-ball innings. 

Later, Odean Smith (0) was sent packing for a first ball duck while Shahrukh Khan, who has not been in his best of his forms in IPL 2022, could only add 15 runs off eight deliveries. 

Rashid Khan spins a web against Punjab Kings

Premier Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan once again brought his experience to the fore as he got the important scalps of Dhawan, Livingstone and Khan to return match figures of 3/22. 

GT medium-pacer Darshan Nalkande, meanwhile, picked up two wickets.
