Captain Faf holds the fort for RCB

Du Plessis went about his innings cautiously, after being asked to bat, even though he lost his batting partners Anuj Rawat (4), and Virat Kohli (0) in quick succession.

However, Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell (23), brought some semblance to the RCB innings as he notched up a quick fire knock of 11 deliveries which included three boundaries and one hit over the fence. But young Suyash Prabhudessai (10) could not add much to the team tally with du Plessis continuing to anchor the innings from the other end.

He combined well with his next batting partner Shahbaz Ahmed (26) to forge a 70-run stand for the fifth wicket. Ahmed hit one boundary in his 22-ball cautious knock.

Later, the RCB captain, was involved in a 49-run stand with Dinesh Karthik (13 not out) before he was sent packing for his highest IPL score which included 11 boundaries in two sixes from 64 deliveries.

Jason Holder stars with the ball for LSG

West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder displayed his brilliance with the ball and his catching effort on the field to send Maxwell packing as he returned figures of 2/25 with his Sri Lankan compatriot Dushmantha Chameera scalping two wickets as well.
