Mohammed Shami: How Gujarat Titans’ bowler missed out?

The India fast bowler was brought into bowl the 18th over by captain Hardik Pandya with Delhi Capitals reeling at 142/7 in the chase.

Shami trapped Delhi Capitals and West Indies power-hitter Rovman Powell in front of the stumps in his second delivery. He slipped in a full length off-cutter to deceive Powell with his variation and swing as the ball struck his back pad with the umpire making an easy call.

The GT fast bowler, then, bowled at hard pace as tailender Khaleel Ahmed got an edge and was caught behind by wicket keeper-batter Matthew Wade.

However, Shami, later tried to ball a full toss at Bangladesh tailender Mustafizur Rahman but it landed as a full toss and the batter was able to fend it for one run recording a missed a hat-trick opportunity for the Indian.

Yuzvendra Chahal: How Rajasthan Royals’ bowler missed out?

Chahal was brought into ball the 16th over by the Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson with Mumbai Indians needing 58 runs off 30 deliveries to win.

The wrist-spinner trapped Tam David in front of the stumps in the first delivery of the over with a brilliant leg break which landed around leg stump before skidding to trap the batter.

His second victim was Daniel Sams in the very next delivery. Chahal floated the ball in the air to tempt the batter to go for a big hit and he fell into the trap with wicket keeper-batter Jos Buttler taking a brilliant catch.

Chahal, almost, completed his hat-trick as his leg-break skidded through with batter Murugan Ashwin getting a thick edge to it but substitute fielder Karun Nair spilled the catch at the first slip.
