Victoria Royals will take on the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL Canada on November 29. A potential No. 1 overall pick in the next NHL Draft didn’t disappoint when he visited his home state capital this weekend. Led by star forward Conor Bedard, the Regina Pats faced the Victoria Royals at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Center on Saturday (November 26). The match was the second match of BC. Pat’s road trip sold out arena seats statewide while fans gathered to watch North Vancouver’s Bedard celebrate his return. Saturday was no exception, with more than 7,000 fans coming to see his WHL top scorer. The Royals went winless in November, suffering two one-sided losses to Prince George prior to his matchup with Pat.
Both sides had plenty of offense on Saturday, but Bedard’s four-point night complimented by Tanner Howe’s four-goal performance in Regina propelled the Patts to a 9-5 win. Bedard, who leads his second-highest scorer in the league by 23 points, scored two hat-tricks before the end of his season. Two of them made a partial break when the speedy 17-year-old beat out a Royals backtrack defender. He said he was excited.

“You thrive when you play in front of a packed building, especially with the energy of yesterday and today,” he said. “I think our coach would have liked a few fewer points, but our offense is a lot of fun.” Royals forwards Alex Thacker and Jake Poole each lost three points, while Braden Schurman returned from injury to score two. Pat will play in Kelowna on Tuesday and win the BC. Game at Kamloops and Prince George. Royals host Moose his Joe Warriors at 7am.
