After a two-week hiatus, Maine men’s hockey returned to the ice with a 5-1 victory over American International College (AIC) at Alfond Arena on Saturday, November 26th. The five goals were their biggest attacking effort since Maine defeated Quinnipiac 4–0 on 22 October. The main is his 1-0 lead of 8:20 in the first period when Nolan Renwick scored on assists from Felix Trudeau and David Breazeal. AIC equalized 1-1 after 11:33.0 to Julius Janhonen’s power-play goal assisted by Dustin Mantz and Blake Bennett. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of the first period. In the second half, Maine scored three goals to make it 4-1. Raiden Breen scores just 1:06, giving the Mains a 2–1 lead with help from Trudeau and Grayson Arnott. Breen scored his second goal in his 14:31 points. Ben Poisson and Brandon Chabrier assisted this time. Only 1 Main won his 4-1: Twenty days later, Donavan met Villeneuve-Four with the help of Michael Mancinelli and Killian Kecher-Olsson.
With 36 remaining in the game, Main scored his fifth and final goal from Luke Antonacci’s racket, with help from Didric Hembrandt and Mancinelli. The Black Bears were 0-3 on the power play, but the AIC was 1-2. Maine was penalized just two times in the game, while AIC was penalized three times. Main Outshot AIC 46-18. Victor Ostmann scored his Bears goal for Black and saved 17 shots. Maine is currently 3-8-1 on the season and 0-5-1 in Hockey East. They will travel to Burlington, Vermont next weekend to play Hockey He against their East rivals, the University of Vermont. The game time is Friday at 7 pm. Saturday, December 3, 5:00 p.m. The Black Bears will be returning home on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2:00 pm when he hosts Canisus College. 17:00 “Skating with the Bears” where young ice hockey players put on skates and helmets and skate with the ice hockey team.
