Cornell Big Red will take on the Sacred Heart Pioneers in the NCAA USA on November 22. I recently got the opportunity to speak with Pierre-Luc O’Brien, who played the lead role for Sacred Heart from 2004 to 2008. O’Brien was a Hobey Baker finalist and a three-time all-star in Atlantic Hockey. He has the highest career point total at the institution (156). When asked about his fondest college hockey experience, O’Brien recalled the “Miracle at the MIC,” which took place on November 4, 2006, at the Mercyhurst Ice Center during a match between Mercyhurst and O’Brien’s Pioneers.
With around four minutes remaining and behind 4-0, Sacred Heart scored four goals in three minutes, three of which were scored by O’Brien.
