The Indian Women’s team is all set and enthusiastic to play in the very first FIH Hockey5s Women’s World Cup. This exciting event will happen from January 24th to January 27th in Muscat, Oman. India is scheduled for their opener against Poland on January 24th at 12:50 PM Indian Standard Time, and later the same day, they face the USA at 9:10 PM.

Their last game in the group stage is against Namibia on January 25th at 2:30 PM. Following the group matches, the top teams will advance to the quarterfinals on January 26th. On the same day, the semifinals will be held, and the final match will take place on January 27th.

Rajni Etimarpu, an experienced goalkeeper, will lead the Indian team, with defender Mahima Chaudhary acting as the vice-captain. The squad also includes Bansari Solanki as another goalkeeper, while Akshata Abaso Dhekale and Jyoti Chhatri will strengthen the defense.

Midfielders Mariana Kujur and Mumtaz Khan are ready for action, and Ajmina Kujur, Rutaja Dadaso Pisal, and Deepika Soreng complete the team as forwards. Rajni Etimarpu, the team captain, shares that the team is buzzing with excitement and ready to meet their opponents head-on in this tournament.

They are focusing on implementing their strategies to give their rivals a tough challenge. Vice-captain Mahima Chaudhary feels the team is well-prepared and has a strong chance to win if they play to the fullest and stick to their game plans. This confidence comes from an effective training camp, which helped each player understand their role.

They’ll be split into four groups with four teams each. After the group stage, the top two from each group will compete for medals, and the others will play for rankings 9 to 16. The medal contests include the quarterfinals, semifinals, and matches for the third place and championship.

The Indian team is in Pool C where they will face the USA, Poland, and Namibia. The other groups include the Netherlands, Malaysia, Fiji, and Oman in Pool A, with Australia, South Africa, Ukraine, and Zambia in Pool B. Group D has New Zealand, Uruguay, Thailand, and Paraguay.
