Cory Sandhagen extended his winning streak to three consecutive victories with a dominant performance against fellow top-ten-ranked bantamweight contender Rob Font at UFC Nashville. Despite suffering a torn tricep in the opening round, Sandhagen showcased his resilience and strategic prowess securing an impressive seven takedowns and nearly 20 minutes of total control time over the course of the five-round affair.

While it may not have been the most entertaining fight for the fans in attendance. Sandhagen’s performance was a statement victory cementing his position as a force to be reckoned with in the bantamweight division.

It was evident that Sandhagen had a well-thought-out game plan and he executed it to perfection. Utilizing his wrestling skills to control Font on the ground. Sandhagen showcased his versatility and adaptability inside the Octagon. Despite the injury, he pressed forward relentlessly imposing his will on Font and dictating the pace of the fight.

Cory Sandhagen and Tatiana Suarez’s impressive performance at UFC on ESPN 50

Tatiana Suarez showcased her grappling prowess and resilience securing a second-round guillotine choke submission over former undisputed strawweight champion Jessica Andrade. Returning to the Octagon after battling through a series of debilitating injuries earlier in the year.

Suarez proved her mettle and earned the most high-profile win of her career to date. With this impressive victory, the Californian grappling sensation likely reinserts herself into the strawweight top-5 and firmly position herself in the title picture for the first time since her unanimous decision win over Nina Nunes in 2019.

In her previous bout in February, Suarez announced her comeback with authority submitting Montana De La Rosa with a second-round guillotine choke in a brief flyweight cameo. This impressive performance earned her a Performance of the Night bonus and signaled her return to the Octagon after a challenging period of recovery from injuries.

Suarez faced a formidable opponent, a Brazilian powerhouse and former division champion known for her aggressive fighting style. However, Suarez proved to be a force to be reckoned with imposing her grappling dominance and earning her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with the spectacular second-round guillotine choke win.
