Robert Sanchez, born on 18 November 1997, is a professional Spanish footballer who plays for the Premier League club Chelsea and also represents the Spain national team. Sanchez was born in Cartagena, located in the Region of Murcia. During his early career, he played for Escuela de Futbol de Santa Ana, Cartagena FC, and Ciudad Jardin. His journey progressed further when he joined Levante in 2010. At the age of 15, Sanchez moved to England and joined Brighton & Hove Albion. In June 2015, he signed his first professional contract.

Sanchez made his Brighton debut on 1 November 2020, participating in a Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur that ended in a 2–1 defeat. In 23 February 2021, he extended his contract with Brighton until June 2025. During the second half of the 2022–23 season, Sanchez temporarily lost his primary position to backup goalkeeper Jason Steele. Brighton’s head coach Roberto De Zerbi also expressed empathy for Sanchez’s situation. However, Sanchez was starting in key matches, including a clean-sheet performance in the 5–0 FA Cup quarter-final victory against Grimsby and subsequent games against Chelsea and Manchester United.

In the summer of 2023, Brighton agreed to transfer Sanchez to Chelsea. The transfer fee reportedly was 20 million pounds, with an additional 5 million pounds in potential add-ons. His debut for Chelsea occurred on 13 August in a 1–1 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League.
