Tottenham Hotspur had a forgettable campaign in the Premier League last time. The North London outfit had a poor finish to the season, which saw them miss out on European football altogether after finishing eight. Hence, Spurs will be eager to turn it around this time out, however, it will not be easy. That too with their star striker and club record goalscorer Harry Kane’s future still in doubt, their supporters have every reason to be concerned.
However, new manager Ange Postecoglou is only focused on bringing Tottenham Hotspur back to being successful. The head coach also said that he will have a word about the same with Harry Kane after he returns to pre-season training. “What I know right now is that Harry’s part of this squad. He’s looking forward to coming back to training, getting amongst the players back in here and we start working together,” Postecoglou said in his first press conference as the club manager.
“I don’t think it is my role to sit there and sort of treat people in a manner because of their circumstances. I am big on treating everyone the same. Harry is already entrenched himself in this football club. He’s a very important part, he’s one of the premier strikers in the world, and I want him involved here. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful and I’ve got no doubt that is what he wants as well.”

However, now, Bayern Munich have entered the race and have also stepped up their pursuit in getting his signature. “No, I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any assurances because with these kind of things you’re never dealing in definites or certainties,” Postecoglou responded.
“If I spend too much time worrying about the impact that it may have either way, I’m going to miss trying to build a team because ultimately that’s what’s going to make us successful, if we build a team that plays football a certain way. What’s important in the long term goes beyond individuals. It’s more about overriding philosophy on who we want to be as a team and the key people within that.”
