Manchester United midfield playmaker Christian Eriksen has provided an update about his rehabilitation process following his lengthy injury. The Denmark midfielder suffered a nasty injury in the Emirates FA Cup victory over Reading in January. Since then, he has been out from action and has been limited to seeing United play from the stands or in TV. With most of his teammates have gone to represent their national teams in the international break currently, Eriksen has stayed behind at Carrington to work on his fitness.

Christian Eriksen has informed that the rehabilitation from injury is going well. The 31-year-old midfielder has been regularly updating his followers on social media about his injury situation. In that, he can be seen to have moved on from a protective boot to trainers and now football boots. This latest development will act as a big boost to the supporters. With Manchester United still playing in various competitions this season, it is imperative to have a player of Eriksen’s calibre around.

‘It is weird not being on international duty’

“I am very good thank you, very well thank you,” Eriksen said during a new episode of UTD Podcast series. “It’s very quiet at Carrington I would say, I haven’t been here when it’s this quiet. Maybe it was a bit similar when I signed and the whole team was in Australia. That was also very quiet. There is literally no-one here [laughs]. Nah, there are still a few people, but compared to normal there is nobody here.

“It is weird not being on international duty, you are normally away and now it’s more the thing you are following your national team, and you are here instead of being with them. That is weird, but it has happened before so you get used to it. But, still, you enjoy it less.”

Speaking more about his recent Instagram post and the ongoing rehabilitation, Eriksen added, “Yeah, it is going well. I have just started being outside as you saw [on Instagram] with football boots on. And then we take it from there, that is the next step. I have been in the gym for some weeks now and now it is time to do the next rehab session outside.”

It’s just part of your career: Christian Eriksen

It is never an easy period for a player to be sidelined with injury. However, Eriksen feels that he is dealing with the situation a lot better, thanks to his experience. “I think earlier in my career I would have taken it a lot harder than I do now,” he explained.

“You learn later on that it’s just part of your career. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not. With this one particularly, when I can’t do anything myself, when somebody came on to me, the mindset is just getting back as soon as possible in a healthy, strong way and not to get any setbacks.”
