The highlight of the FA Cup quarter-final will be at Old Trafford when Manchester United take on Liverpool in a mouth-watering fixture. The game on Sunday evening will be heavily in favour of the visitors, thanks to their impressive form this season. The Reds have already won the Carabao Cup and are going strong in the remaining two cup competitions – FA Cup and Europa League. Besides, they are involved in a tight three-way battle for the Premier League title.

The same cannot be said for Manchester United who are going through a difficult run this campaign. With the FA Cup presenting them with their only chance of winning a league trophy this term, they are expected to give their all against a well-driven Liverpool side. However, it will not be easy for the hosts since the form is on the visitors’ side. Besides, Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season, hence, the squad would be eager to send him off in the best way possible.

We have to fight for every metre: Sofyan Amrabat

Sofyan Amrabat, who is on loan from Fiorentina, has spoken about how United must approach this jaw-dropping fixture. “Like you said, it’s the do or die or the eat or get eaten. So we have to be ready. We have to be prepared. It was like I said, the pull is strong, but they want to win and we want to win. So we have to be hungry. We have to. We have to fight for every metre, to give our lives, and yeah, do or die,” he told the United Review, matchday programme.

It is to be noted that United had held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield in the Premier League earlier this season. In that game, Amrabat played alongside Kobbie Mainoo in midfield. “It was a very nice experience. I think it’s clear that Liverpool, they are very strong. Also, this season, they have played very good football. I think our game there was very hard. It’s not easy to get the result at Anfield. But we played and it was zero-zero. I think it’s a very good and important point. But now we play at home against them. We have a lot of respect for them. Of course, we want to win the game. So to me, I think it is a very nice game. We are at home with a full stadium so this is a big boost for us,” he stated.

The Moroccan international also spoke about the importance of the supporters in a game like this. “Yeah, I think so, you know, because they are always behind us everywhere. No matter where or when. So I think they know that they are very good for us. They know we need them. I think they are amazing and they help us a lot. We know it’s very important for them but also for us, of course. So we want to make them happy and, hopefully, we can give them a nice game and get the win,” he said.
