The start of Gameweek 4 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is marked by Luton Town hosting their first ever Premier League match at home. Manchester City go up against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening, Liverpool and Aston Villa face off at Anfield on Sunday evening. The transfer deadline for this gameweek approaches on Friday, September 1st, at 11:00 pm IST, leaving only a few hours before the transfer window closes. Whether any last-minute transfers inject excitement into the FPL landscape will become clear once the weekend concludes with the Arsenal vs. Manchester United match.

Forwards are the face of any good FPL team. Let’s take a look at top 5 forwards to target for gameweek 4.

Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea’s new striker has impressed everyone with his skills and talent, during pre-season he scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists. Jackson also scored his first Chelsea goal in gameweek 3 against Luton Town. Jackson is also on top for xGI among forwards this season so far. With Nottingham Forest in gameweek 4 and Bournemouth in gameweek 5, Jackson can become a solid option alongside Haaland in the coming gameweeks.

Yoane Wissa

With Toney suspended until January, Wissa could be a go to budget forward for the coming gameweeks of FPL 2023/24 season. He is also second for xGI among forwards this season, and has already scored goals against the likes of Fulham and Tottenham this season. Brentford play Bournemouth at home this weekend and Wissa, only costing 6.2 million pounds could be a solid budget forward.

Alexander Isak

With 28.8% ownership, Isak is quite a popular asset amongst the FPL managers this season. With already having scored two goals this season, Isak will want to score more goals this weekend. As Newcastle is set to face Brighton, who 3rd worst for xG conceded despite easy fixtures they had, Isak will be looking to target the leaky Brighton defense and could be a valuable asset in FPL.

Julian Alvarez

With De Bruyne out injured, Julian Alvarez is getting regular game time for Manchester City. Alvarez has played full 90 mins in City’s first 3 Premier League games. Only owned by 9.8% FPL managers, Alvarez is 6.6m forward for the most attacking team in the league, which is almost a no brainer and should be one of top transfer targets in GW4.

Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa has been amazing under Unai Emery. They will face Liverpool this weekend, Liverpool are without Van Dijk and Konate and Watkins being a talisman and a key goalscorer for his team will be looking to score his first goal in the league. Watkins has scored at least 130 FPL points on each of the previous 3 seasons and has already provided 3 FPL assists in his last 3 games. The 8.0m forward will be looking to score his inaugural goal this weekend.
