Fantasy Premier League: The Working of the FPL Bonus Points System Explained

Bonus points play a crucial role in Fantasy Premier League points scoring. They are determined and distributed post-match using a Bonus Points System (BPS). This system relies on a variety of statistics provided by Opta to capture on-field actions, resulting in a performance score for each player.

In each match, the top three players in BPS are awarded bonus points: three points for the highest-scoring player, two points for the second-best, and one point for the third. If there’s a tie for first place, both Player 1 and Player 2 receive 3 points, while Player 3 gets 1 point. If there’s a tie for second place, Player 1 receives 3 points, and both Player 2 and Player 3 receive 2 points each. In the case of a tie for third place, Player 1 gets 3 points, Player 2 receives 2 points, and both Player 3 and Player 4 earn 1 point each.

Players accumulate BPS points based on specific statistics (with one point awarded for each, unless otherwise specified):
