Erling Haaland has been setting the footballing world on fire ever since his move to Borussia Dortmund. Considering his hot streak in front of goals, it is not surprising that the Norwegian forward is constantly being linked with a move away from the German club. Several European heavyweights have been linked with the forward and the latest rumours indicate that the defending European champions Chelsea are serious about getting his signature. The Blues are said to be interested in bringing the forward to sort out their issues up front. However, Haaland has played down reports of a staggering 175 million Euros summer move to Chelsea, saying he hopes “it’s just rumours”.

During Dortmund’s pre-season training camp in Switzerland, Haaland rebuffed those reports. “I don’t really have much to say about this,” Haaland said. “I have three years left on my contract and I’m enjoying my time here (at Dortmund).”

He also went on to say that the figure being quoted in the report is a “lot of money”. “Before yesterday, I didn’t speak to my agent in one month – I think you have the answer there,” he added. “I don’t really care too much about that. It’s a lot of money – I hope it’s just rumours to be honest because that’s a lot of money for a person!”

Despite winning the Champions League, Thomas Tuchel’s side had obvious issues up front as Timo Werner struggled for goals last season. Chelsea had a forgettable first half of the campaign, but since Tuchel’s arrival, they have enjoyed an amazing run. Still, their forward department seems to be the main issue with that team.

Hence, many strikers were linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and Haaland is the latest name to be rumoured of a switch to Chelsea. It is also highly doubtful that Dortmund will be keen to lose another key player immediately after allowing Jadon Sancho to join Manchester United this summer. However, if Haaland keeps maintaining his impressive goal streak, the forward will only be linked with more teams in the coming transfer windows.
