Even though both clubs have been in good form since the World Cup break, it is Barcelona who will be heading into this tie as favourites. It is largely thanks to their impeccable record in La Liga. The Catalan giants have 56 points from 21 games to sit atop the table. They also have a healthy 11-point cushion over second-placed Real Madrid despite playing a game more. On the other hand, Manchester United are placed third in the Premier League standings with 46 points from 23 games. Considering where United finished last season, it is an achievement on its own from Erik ten Hag’s side.
