Andorra and Liechtenstein will be hoping to register their first win in the UEFA Nations League when they take on each other on Friday. These two teams have had a disappointing start to the campaign till now. Andorra suffered a 3-0 defeat against Latvia before settling for a goalless draw against Moldova. Liechtenstein lost both their games – Moldova (2-0) and Latvia (1-0). On Friday, Andorra will be the hosts and will hope that the home advantage will give them the upper hand in the clash.

The home side has the edge in the rankings, however, their form of late has been extremely worrisome. Prior to the Nations League, Andorra won two friendlies against St Kitts and Nevis, and Grenada by identical 1-0 margins. If it is taken further back, then in the whole of 2021, they won only twice, with both victories coming against lowly-ranked San Marino in the 2022 World Cup qualification.

Liechtenstein’s form is neither impressive. They are yet to win an international match this year or the last year. The last time, they won a match was in October 2020 when they beat Luxembourg. It is an alarming statistic, which Liechtenstein will hope to correct soon. However, they have an extremely difficult task at hand in producing an upset win on Friday. Hence, Andorra will be favourites for Friday’s clash but even for them, the three points are not yet guaranteed.
Both sides do not have that many injuries or suspension concerns, hence they are expected to name strong Starting lineups. Xavier Vieira, Marcio Vieira and Jordi Rubio started in the midfield in the last match for Andorra. It is not clear whether all three will retain their positions or if one of Sergi Moreno and Cristian Martinez will return to the Starting XI. Up front, one or both of Jordi Alaez and Ricard Fernandez could start for the hosts. On the other hand, Liechtenstein could name an unchanged line-up. With winger Nicolas Hasler leading the team as skipper, Yanik Frick and Noah Frick could support him up top.
