Velocity Gaming (VLT), an Indian esports organisation, revealed that it has partnered with AMD, a CPU manufacturer. AMD will be featured prominently on Velocity Gaming’s jerseys as part of the agreement. In exchange, AMD will provide VLT with cutting-edge equipment to assist its players practise and compete.

“While esports is growing at a staggering rate in India, such brand partnerships continue to be rare with most sponsors currently favoring advertising campaigns. We want to challenge the status quo and are thrilled to arrange this unique tie-up which will benefit both parties,” said Gnana Shekar, the chief marketing officer of Skyesports. The company’s talent management agency, Sky Route, manages VLT.

“We want our players to have the finest equipment at all times to put on their best performance. As the leading processor manufacturer globally, it was a no-brainer for us to partner with AMD,” said Manoj Kashyap, owner and founder of Velocity Gaming.

Velocity Gaming: Journey in Indian Esports

VLT currently has one of India’s strongest VALORANT rosters. After finishing second in the VALORANT Conquerors Championship (VCC) last August, the team nearly missed out on qualifying for the VCT APAC Last Chance Qualifier.

The Skyesports Championship 3.0 VALORANT was recently won by Velocity. Sachin Tendulkar, the cricketing legend, presented them with their trophy, check, and medals at a closed award ceremony in Mumbai.

Last month, the organisation signed VLT Asteria, an all-female VALORANT lineup. VLT is the first organisation in India to have an all-female team, with the goal of empowering ladies in esports. They qualified for the VCT 2021: Game Changers SEA FSL Elite, an all-female competition hosted by Riot Games in Asia, after winning the FSL Open Wildcard last month. They were eliminated in the second round of the lower bracket.

Velocity Gaming is managed by Sky Route, a talent management organisation that is part of Skyesports.

Velocity Gaming debuted in Valorant esports when the game was still in its beginning stage, and their lineup has since built a name for itself. VLT Asteria, an all-female team, was just signed. VLT was the first organisation in India to have an all-female team.

VLT Asteria is also creating a name for themselves, having won the FSL Open Wildcard last month, allowing them to compete in the VCT 2021: Game Changers SEA FSL Elite.
