A fan-favorite map is coming back after a long time to the Valorant map pool. Split will once again be accessible to play, but two other maps are receiving their exit. Riot Games released a seven-map pool back in June to make it simpler for gamers to understand and ace each map, but the recent pool will be whittled down to 6 maps. Split is coming back to VALORANT?

To prepare a path for Split, Breeze and Bind will quit the map pool in Competitive and Unrated. Nonetheless, you can still play them in custom games, Spike Rush, and other game modes

When will Split come back to Valorant?

Split will arrive in the map pool in initially in January with patch 6.0 along with some modifications. These modifications will be listed in the patch notes, says Riot, and there is presently no date set for when Bind and Breeze will be again introduced to the map pool.

When determining which maps to save and eliminate, Riot looks at components such as player sentiment, past and future planned updates, and what the map gets in terms of strategic conflict.

“For Breeze, we feel like this map has some room to improve in terms of agents and team comp diversity, as well as some opportunities for simplification of the space,” explained Joe Lansford, Level Designer.

“And for Bind, it’s mostly about strategic diversity. We’d like to open up more play around the teleporters and potentially rethink how teams execute, and defend against executes, on both sites.”

While gamers will possibly be amused with the reduction of Breeze, Bind will be skipped. The good thing is that like Split, they are not moved permanently, and we will get them again at some point with some developments.

In January, the given maps will be in rotation:

  • Split
  • Haven
  • Ascent
  • Icebox
  • Fracture
  • Pearl
