Soul and Stalwart Esports Trash Talk Matter Explained

The whole trash talk started between the two teams when Team Soul won BMPS 2022 and had got a place for themselves in the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022. Both the teams, at some point or the other will meet/fight in the world league, so this was just the start of a fun banter. Stalwart Esports were quick to acknowledge that SouL will be a part of the WI and started a fun trash talk with them since Soul’s manager was seen talking about trash talks and how a healthy one is always fun. STE had tweeted about how SouL would not need a passport to travel for the PMWI LAN since they are not humans. Junvenile but could have been the start of a fun banter.

What could have been all fun and games quickly escalated to the form of taunts after there was no reply from Soul and there was another tweet from STE that targetted them.

For the ones unaware, Soul’s victory symbol has been the rocket and their fans like to spam the chat section every time the team does well. It could have been the case where some SouL fans must have DMed the team with rocket symbols.

In a now deleted tweet, Soul’s manager Sid accused STE of unneccesarily taunting his team, to gain some international fame. It should be known that STE is one of the most recognised teams in the international circuit and Team Soul, though their fan base is big, they are going to enter the international circuit after 2 years. In the last World meet, GodLike Esports had represented India.

Owners’ Reactions

When this escalated, Animesh “8bit Thug” Agarwal jumped into it and was showing off his stuff that costed more than $10K in response to STE’s owner’s offer of $10k for a 1v1 fight between Goblin and Action. Both players are the best assaulters of their respective teams.

Stalwart Esports’ owner, Towqeer Gilkar, went on Instagram to share why he started this little banter that took such a big turn. He said that at one point in time one person from S8UL said their team doesn’t compete with inferior teams, which hurt his feelings. He also said that he wanted to keep it friendly but the Indian audience could not handle it. He also said that the way Sid responded to the trash talk was not what he had expected out of him since he claims to understand what trash talk is all about.

To calm the whole situation, Lokesh Goldy Jain, one of the other owners of S8UL announced a pizza challege between his team and STE, which was duly accepted by STE, and the matter was resolved.
