The fandom is really hyped as Rurouni Kenshin Season 2 has finally got an official release date. Fuji TV Anime Lineup Press Conference 2024, which took place on Monday, March 11, 2024, confirmed the highly awaited premiere of Rurouni Kenshin season 2 at the television anime series’ press conference, which was a thrilling development for fans of the show.

Release Date for Rurouni Kenshin Season 2

The anime Rurouni Kenshin Season 2 is all set to begin streaming in Fall 2024. But as the release time gets closer, fans can hardly contain their excitement, waiting with bated breath for any possible sneak peaks or teasers.

Season 2 of Rurouni Kenshin is the continuation of LIDEN FILMS’ re-adaptation of the popular manga series by Nobuhiro Watsuki.

Season two will continue the legacy of the original television anime adaptation. It ran from January 1996 to September 1998 with 66 episodes produced by Studio Gallop and 28 by Studio Deen. The new season is sure to wow viewers old and new.

The Plot of the anime

Hitokiri Battosai, a former Bakumatsu assassin, is the protagonist of a narrative that starts in 1878, the eleventh year of the Meiji period in Japan. Hitokiri Battosai transforms into Himura Kenshin. A nomadic swordsman who protects the Japanese people and swears he will never kill again after his battles with the bakufu.

What to expect in Rurouni Kenshin Season 2

Season 2 of Rurouni Kenshin will officially premiere in Japan in October 2024, as previously stated. Replicating the first season’s fruitful framework, the second season will continue in the same continuous half-year format.

As of this writing, Crunchyroll has not confirmed if it would produce an English dub like it did for the first season or if it will continue to stream the original Japanese version weekly as it airs in Japan.

Soma Saito plays the lead role of Kenshin Himura, Rie Takahashi plays Kaoru Kamiya. Taku Yashiro plays Sanosuke Sagara, and Makoto Koichi voices Yahiko Myojin. The anime features an excellent ensemble cast. The cast also includes Saori Onishi (Megumi Takani), Hajime Saito (Satoshi Hino), and Yuma Uchida (Shinomori Aoshi).
