Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and the app have concluded the first installment of Akira Amano’s Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective manga with the publication of the 96th chapter on Sunday. Following the end of the first part, the website confirmed that the manga will be put on hold until June 4, when the second part of the manga will begin.

In October 2020, Akira Amano began serializing Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective (Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri) on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app. Shueisha published the manga’s 10th compiled volume on April 4. Manga Plus releases the English version of the manga. The company describes the story as follows:

Ron Kamonohashi, a private investigator with serious issues, and Totomaru Ishiki, a pure-hearted but dim police detective, team up to solve the most baffling mysteries! Where to watch the first season of the anime:

The anime adaptation of the manga is set to debut its 1st season in October and has announced its main cast members, with Yōhei Azakami playing the role of Ron Kamonohashi and Junya Enoki playing the role of Totomaru “Toto” Ishiki.

The upcoming anime is being helmed by Shōta Ihata, known for directing titles like Girlish Number and The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent. The animation production company diomedéa is handling the production. Wataru Watari, the author of the original light novel and anime scripts for Girlish Number, is supervising the series scripts.

Masakazu Ishikawa, who has worked on anime like Squid Girl and The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent, is adapting the character designs for animation. Yo Tsuji, who previously composed music for Miss Hokusai, is creating the music for the anime at Kadokawa.

The history of the manga

Beginning in 2004, Akira Amano published her manga series Reborn! in Weekly Shonen Jump, which concluded in 2012. The series was later adapted into a television anime which aired from 2006 to 2010. The anime was streamed outside of Japan by Crunchyroll and Viz Media. In September and October of 2018, Discotek Media licensed the anime and released it on Blu-ray Disc. Viz Media published 16 volumes of the 42-volume manga series in North America. Additionally, the manga has been adapted into four stage plays.

In August 2013, Amano began the elDLIVE manga on Jump Live, an app that preceded Shonen Jump+. The manga later shifted to Shonen Jump+ after the app’s launch in September 2014, concluding in November 2018. The series’ final and eleventh volume was published by Shueisha in February 2019. Viz Media initially published the manga’s first three chapters in English digitally as part of its “Jump Start” program in September-October 2014, before publishing the manga both digitally and in print.
