India’s Female CS: GO Team Dominates Sri Lanka to Secure Asian Championship Qualification

India’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) scene is making a comeback, rekindling excitement among esports fans across the country. This resurgence has spurred passionate players and teams to immerse themselves in the game once again. The female CS: GO team representing India in the qualifiers leading up to the Female World Esports Championship 2023 is a prime example of this trend.

On May 11th, the Indian team faced off against Sri Lanka in the IESF Female Asian Championship 2023: South Asian Qualifier. The team crushed the competition by winning two maps and losing only three rounds, securing their qualification for the IESF Female Asian Championship 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Indian Women’s CS: GO Team, Top G, Sweeps Sri Lanka to Qualify for IESF Female Asian Championship 2023

Under the banner of “Top G,” the lineup that won the Indian qualifier for the IESF Female Asian Championship 2023: South Asia has now become the official women’s CS: GO team representing India in the tournament. Comprised of the best female CS: GO players in India, Team India includes:

  • Swayambika “Sway” Sachar – IGL (Captain)
  • Nidhi “Stormyyy” Salekar
  • Shagufta “xyaa” Iqbal
  • Dilraj “COCO” Kaur Matharu
  • Aastha “CrackShot” Nangia
  • Priyanka “ALEXAA” Choudhary – Substitute

Top G emerged victorious in the grand finals of the National Esports Championship 2023 (NESC) on March 20th, which served as the national qualifier for the upcoming Female World Esports Championship 2023. As the national female team, Top G represented Team India in the IESF Female Asian Championship 2023: South Asian Qualifier against Sri Lanka.

India’s swift and decisive victories over Sri Lanka on Anubis and Overpass, with scorelines of 16-3 and 16-0 respectively, ended the affair quickly. Sri Lanka’s team could only muster three rounds across two maps. In contrast, India, led by Sway, delivered an exceptional performance to qualify for the IESF Female Asian Championship 2023.

Team India is now only one step away from qualifying for the IESF Female World Esports Championship 2023, where top female CS: GO teams from around the world will be representing their respective countries.

Sway, the team’s captain expressed her pride in the team’s performance and the results achieved. “We are extremely proud to have secured our spot in the Asian qualifiers and to represent India among all the elite teams from the continent,” she said. “The team has improved significantly in the last few months, and we are constantly working on improving our gameplay by strategizing and practising rigorously. We want to be at our very best when we compete in the offline qualifiers in Riyadh and are determined to secure a spot for the Grand Finals in Romania.”

The female CS: GO team representing India will be next seen in action at the LAN qualifier in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where teams from five different countries, including Saudi Arabia (host country), India (South Asia), Hong Kong (Southeast Asia), Australia (Oceania), and a team from Central Asia (TBD), will battle it out. The competition will be fierce, as only the top two teams will advance to the IESF Female World Esports Championship 2023, which is scheduled to take place in Iași, Romania from August 25th to September 3
