Almost every CS:GO player, regardless of skill level, is eager to try out the CS2 beta, especially now that Dust II has been replaced by Mirage by Valve as of June 6. But among those who are eager to participate isn’t one of the most recognizable names in the business world. After helping Heroic win the BLAST Premier Spring Final on June 11, Heroic captain cadiaN said in an interview with HLTV’s Dust 2 Brasil that he intended to concentrate on CS:GO until CS2’s full release this summer.

“I don’t know yet,” cadiaN said about his plans for CS2. “When it comes out I’m going to play it and try to master it as quickly as possible. But until the day comes, I’m not going to play the beta too much. I’m just going to focus on CS:GO until the new game comes out and then we’ll see from there.”

A small number of players have had access to the CS2 beta since March, but Valve has only recently started posting updates regularly. The developers made two major changes on June 6: Dust II was replaced with Mirage, and interchangeable weapon load-outs were added.

Even though there is a lot of excitement surrounding the CS2 beta and many players are eager to participate, not everyone is happy with how the game is currently playing. On June 8, analyst and former professional player Jacob “Pimp” Winneche criticized the game’s control scheme.
“Clumsy, slow, crouching, and then moving makes me feel like I’m at 130kgs again,” Pimp said. Since cadiaN still has to compete in Heroic’s professional CS:GO tournaments, he probably won’t be playing the CS2 beta all that much.
Fans of CS:GO are undoubtedly familiar with both of these maps. Inferno and Mirage are two of the few maps that have remained in the game since its 2012 debut. Although both have evolved, only Inferno underwent a substantial makeover in 2016. Mirage, on the other hand, is the only map in the pool that has been around since the beginning and hasn’t undergone a significant update.
