Here’s how to find and where to grind Cipher Cubits in Destiny 2 Lightfall.

When Lightfall’s campaign ends, the endgame begins, and it’s time to start grinding out some exploration in Neomuna and beyond. Earning Cipher Cubits for the unfinished business quest in Destiny 2 requires first killing a group of Vex. Then, break Cloud Accretion in Destiny 2 to extract Rohan’s data. Follow the steps below to collect the Cipher Qubit from Vex and use it to extract Rohan’s data from Cloud Accretion in Destiny 2:

  • Make sure the Tracking Ghost Mode option is selected and turned on.
  • You now need to get 40 Vex Kills to complete this quest. Vex can be found throughout Neptune.
  • After this, you will have 40 stack cypher qubits by killing Vex. One data extraction costs 8 cipher qubits.
  • Now select Resource Detector Mod.
  • Now look for cloud accretion all over Neptune. These will come in the form of a popup icon and you can claim them.
  • To extract Rohan’s data, make sure you have acquired five Cloud Accretions.
  • Once you’ve collected all five Cloud Augmentations in Destiny 2, you can break them down to extract Rohan’s data and collect the reward, which is the Deterministic Chaos Alien Machine Gun.

Cipher Cubits are items that will randomly drop from VX enemies on NeoMuna. You can easily find Vex by going to any area of the Neomuna map for that particular week, marked on the map with the blue diamond-shaped icon in the image above. Go to the area where the Vex Incursion Zone is active and start killing Vex. Vex will spawn periodically, but they will spawn continuously if Terminal Overload activity is also active in the same area.

Another way to track down Cipher Cubits is by opening chests around Neomuna. Equip your Ghost with a perk that will mark chests on your HUD, such as Expert Tracker or Combo Detector, and farm chests to help you progress.

Do your best to kill as many Vex as possible, and progress will be achieved. Don’t pay attention to the resources extracted by the search, as this will grow over time as you take in more and more cipher qubits. Once you have enough Cyper Cubits, the quest phase will end and you can continue towards the Deterministic Chaos Alien LMG.
