After completing the Lightfall campaign, Destiny 2 players will have plenty of Neomuna to explore. Following the conclusion of the main narrative, you’ll start a series of missions to restore the Cloud Strider memorials at the archivist Quinn Laghari’s request. These missions have some implications for the plot, but they also direct players through environments that are comparable to Neomuna.

Players learned how to participate in Terminal Overload missions through the Stargazer quest, and Bluejay is following suit by introducing guardians to the Partition missions. These tasks result in the drop of a Pinnacle and a few Strand Meditations, and it is likely that players will engage in them as they work to raise their Power Level. In Destiny 2, follow these instructions to finish the Bluejay mission.

How to complete the Destiny 2 Bluejay quest:

The Lightfall post-Bluejay campaign’s quest is one of the easier ones, but that doesn’t make it any less significant. To access the Partition activity, you must complete it. Once you have, speak with Nimbus to try the activity out on your other characters. Players must acquire a Polymorphic Engine and Shellcode Fragments in order to advance in the quest. It takes some luck to obtain Shellcode Fragments because they are a random drop from killing Vex enemies in Neomuna’s Vex Incursion Zone. To move the quest along, you’ll need eight.

  • When you go to Nimbus, they’ll tell you that in order to enter a simulation within Bluejay’s VexNet, you need something called a Polymorphic Engine and Shellcode Fragments.
  • Obtain a Polymorphic Engine and Shellcode Fragments: You only need to use a Strand Subclass to defeat enemies inside the current Vex Incursion Zone to obtain the eight Shellcode Fragments. For the Polymorphic Engine, use a Terminal Overload Key to unlock the bonus chest after a Terminal Overload event to obtain it. These components automatically combine to create the Polymorphic Shellcode required for the following action.
  • Complete the Partition mission on Neomuna to gain access to the weekly Partition mission using your Polymorphic Shellcode, which serves as a one-time use key. Partition comes in three different iterations, but any of them can be finished to advance the Bluejay quest to its conclusion.
  • Repair Maelstrom’s memorial in the Hall of Heroes. As with previous Cloud Strider memorial quests, return to the hall and fix Bluejay’s damaged memorial.
  • Talk to Quinn once more to complete the Destiny 2 Lightfall Bluejay quest.

The Vex Incursion Zone, fortunately for players, is overrun with Vex, and if the Terminal Overload activity is in the same zone as the Vex Incursion Zone, chances are good that you’ll kill two birds with one stone. You can advance on both fronts simultaneously because the Terminal Overload Key chest contains the Polymorphic Engine, which is also required for the Bluejay quest. To get the Polymorphic Engine, you must pay a Terminal Overload Key.

How to access Partition missions in Destiny 2:

You can create a Polymorphic Shellcode by combining eight Shellcode Fragments with a Polymorphic Engine, giving you access to the weekly Partition mission. The mission has its own node that allows you to track its entrance but you cannot start the mission from the map. The entrance to the Partition mission can be found by entering the Vex Incursion Zone and searching for a portal that leads into the Vex Network.

The Expunge activity from Season of the Splicer is comparable to partition missions. Although they tend to be brief, they can still offer players a few surprises. Partition: Hard Reset, for example, consists of a number of sparrow parts that lead to a battle with the game’s final boss. There are also some bomb-defusing parts leading to the boss, which put players against a timer (though Void Hunters can become invisible to defuse the bombs effortlessly). Bluejay will come to an end after the Partition mission is finished. Once your weekly Partition missions are completed, you can claim Nimbus’ weekly bounty, which should give you one Polymorphic Shellcode per week for each character.
