Overview of DONT TOY WITH ME MISS NAGATORO S02: EP 3

In the starting of episode, Nagatoro received a text from Sakura after taking a nap in the painting class and left to visit her pals for some “dazzling girl talk” However, while she was leaving the room, she unintentionally left her phone behind, causing Senpai to go looking for her to retrieve it. Senpai realised he didn’t know which section Nagatoro is in until he got to the first-year level, but a girl helped him by asking who he was searching for and, because he didn’t know her by last name, what her first name was. Senpai was embarrassed to admit that he didn’t know, but when he realised that her friends had nicknamed her “Hayacchi” the girl realised who she was and instructed him to hunt for her in section C. Senpai passed Gamo-chan and Yoshi as they left their lesson and made their way to the cafeteria for lunch.

To avoid being discovered, the youngster hid in a closet in section C, just in time for Sakura, Nagatoro, Nekoba, and Rabi-chan to enter and begin discussing Rabi-recent chan’s relationship with a baseball club member. When they persuaded the reticent Nagatoro to answer the question as well, she replied that her sort of boy is simply “someone who’s fun to be with” The topic swiftly changed to the types of boys each of them are into. Senpai, who was listening in, suddenly recalled all the great times he and Nagatoro had spent together and was left speechless. When Sakura said that Nagatoro probably left her phone in “the club room” their classmates asked if she had been going there a lot lately because of a boy. Nagatoro and Senpai embarrassed, and the latter panicked, making a noise that directed the girl’s attention to the closet.

Senpai was inside when Nagatoro went to open it, and although being visibly upset at first, the girl made up a pretext to divert Sakura and her classmates from hauling Senpai out of class. She graciously thanked him for bringing her the smartphone despite making fun of how spooky he was lurking in the closet and then enquired as to if he heard what she said. Ashamed, Senpai ran off after saying he had no idea what she was talking about and left her looking furious.

Later that evening, Senpai ran at night to prepare for the school-wide marathon the following day so he wouldn’t perform poorly in front of Nagatoro. Unfortunately, while doing so, he slightly injured his ankle. The next day while running, Nagatoro, Gamo-chan, Yoshi, and Sakura soon came up to him and suggested a race. The group tried to convince him that they would not let their guard drop since it might be like the story of “The Tortoise and the Hare” but he resisted, saying that he would like to run at his own pace. He then made a joke about how they were more like cats than hares.

The President suddenly overran them all while dressed in a rabbit costume because cosplaying was permitted at the time. As a result, the girls are inspired to “beating the hare” and although Senpai wished them luck because the President was one of her class’ best athletes, Nagatoro reminded him that it was actually his responsibility to compete. Despite his scepticism, the girls backed him up, claiming they would have pushed one another in a line to increase his pace. However, once they reach a crossing, Nagatoro and Senpai are split from the other girls by a traffic light.

Nagatoro and Senpai go on, realising that they should be close to halfway after Gamo-chan, Yoshi, and Sakura advised them to keep moving and would undoubtedly catch up with them. Senpai had put in a lot of training for the race, and the girl saw this and complemented him, but not without making fun of his running technique. The youngster then sprains his ankle and tells a concerned Nagatoro that he tore it while running the day before, causing her to take him under her arm in order to keep him from falling behind and explaining that they would have continued until they reached the school.

The gir compared their predicament to a scenario from a war movie where two soldiers are separated from their unit, one of them is wounded, and the other refuses to leave him, stating they will go home together. They were walking side by side to complete the school marathon together. Senpai grinned as he observed Nagatoro’s ability to remain compassionate while constantly teasing him and calling her mysterious. Nagatoro eventually requested him to lie down on Senpai’s back after seeing how uncomfortable she truly is. She said that they’ll go faster that way and claimed that she would be able to carry him easily, eventually persuading the youngster who had been embarrassed to say that she shouldn’t feel guilty for his ankle.

Senpai called Nagatoro remarkable for being able to carry him with such a small physique, despite feeling a little guilty for riding a girl’s back. But when he finally saw that she was in fact struggling, he told her to stop, saying that he doesn’t want to continue if there’s even a remote chance that she would suffer harm. Gamo-chan arrived as Nagatoro was blushing, applauding his line and helping to carry Senpai in a sort of human cart while remarking that “a tortoise might be slow, but if you give it a booster, then it can fly”. Gamo-chan instructed Yoshi to run in front of them, using her nearly superhuman speed to act as a windbreak and increasing their speed. They managed to narrowly beat the President, though they were disqualified by the teachers due to their formation. They raced together in the said formation and eventually caught up to the President, but she was still faster than them.

Senpai concerned that Nagatoro had been angered by overhearing her conversation with her buddy two days after the marathon because she stopped to go to the club room and hadn’t texted him either. Gamo-chan then asked Senpai if he knew where Nagatoro lived and when he responded positively, asked him to visit her and bring her some printout in her place. Yoshi then went asking Yoshi and Gamo-chan about it, prompting the latter to reveal to him that she simply got a cold but had recovered pretty quickly and would return to school the following day. Senpai visited Nagatoro’s residence in the afternoon and was met there by a young woman who, thinking Senpai was a thief, identified herself as Misaki, Nagatoro’s sister, and invited him inside.
