In these chapters, Yona may demonstrate her growing leadership abilities by dealing with internal strife within Kouka or by using her enhanced diplomatic abilities to counteract external dangers. Threats to Hak’s unfaltering devotion may lead him to face his own issues, his emotions toward Yona, and his responsibilities as a warrior in the realm.
In addition, the dragons may discover and hone their special abilities, which could lead to exciting fights where their combined might is paramount. Yona, Hak, and the dragons’ developing relationships—both romantic and otherwise—could steal the show as they work through common struggles.
The story takes place in a made-up world where elements of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese culture come together, and it’s about the redemption of Yona, the only princess of the Kingdom of Kouka. King Il, Yona’s pacifist father, provides a safe haven for her in Hiryuu Castle, where she leads the carefree life of a princess under the watchful eye of her bodyguard and childhood companion Son Hak.
Another childhood friend and potential romantic interest, Soo-Won, shows up to celebrate her sixteenth birthday with her. She goes to King Il’s chambers to assure her father she will never forget her love for Soo-Won, but instead she sees him assassinated by Soo-Won, who then announces that he will rule Kouka correctly. After Hak rescues Yona, the two of them flee the palace for the Wind Tribe, where Hak was born.
Son Mundok, Hak’s grandpa, suggested that Yona and Hak seek out an oracle by the name of Ik-Soo. Ik-Soo told them the story of Hiryuu, the first king of Kouka, and the Four Dragon Warriors, who united the country. With the help of Yoon, who was Ik-Soo’s helper, Yona and Hak set out on a quest to discover who among the famous Four Dragon Warriors’ descendants they can find so that they might survive and rescue the Kingdom of Kouka.
