Greater Manchester Police and Manchester United are working to establish the full circumstances around allegations made by Harriet Robson against 20-year-old striker Mason Greenwood.

A statement from Greater Manchester Police said: “Greater Manchester Police is aware of images and video circulating on social media. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

In a statement issued on Sunday morning, Manchester United said they were aware of images posted on social media in relation to claims made against Greenwood, 20.

The statement said: “We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.

“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”

The statement from the Premier League club was issued in response to the allegations being posted within images and audio that are no longer visible on a woman’s Instagram account.

According to The Guardian, Everton have an agreement in place to take Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan as potentially the first signing of the Frank Lampard era, with the Dutchman due to decide whether he prefers a move to Goodison Park or Crystal Palace. Everton are ready to pay Van de Beek’s full salary until the end of the season after he was identified by Lampard, who is expected to officially take charge of the Toffees on Sunday. Van de Beek has never been able to hold down a regular place in United’s first team since his move from Ajax in 2020 for EUR 39 million.

He recently made his 50th appearance for the Red Devils but has only amassed 1,836 minutes giving an average of just 35.72 minutes per game. He was brought to Old Trafford by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but the midfielder failed to establish himself in United’s midfield. And then, he also couldn’t get regular game time under new boss Ralf Rangnick.

Although he is short of game-time, the 24-year-old midfielder is still a highly sort after midfielder in the transfer market. Apart from Everton, Patrick Viera’s Crystal palace are also in pursuit for his signature. Everton is desperate to bring in a quality midfielder before Monday night’s transfer deadline as Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tom Davies and Fabian Delph are sidelined with injuries.
