EVERTON, MANCHESTER UNITED AGREE VAN DE BEEK LOAN

According to The Guardian, Everton have an agreement in place to take Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan as potentially the first signing of the Frank Lampard era, with the Dutchman due to decide whether he prefers a move to Goodison Park or Crystal Palace. Everton are ready to pay Van de Beek’s full salary until the end of the season after he was identified by Lampard, who is expected to officially take charge of the Toffees on Sunday. Van de Beek has never been able to hold down a regular place in United’s first team since his move from Ajax in 2020 for EUR 39 million.

He recently made his 50th appearance for the Red Devils but has only amassed 1,836 minutes giving an average of just 35.72 minutes per game. He was brought to Old Trafford by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but the midfielder failed to establish himself in United’s midfield. And then, he also couldn’t get regular game time under new boss Ralf Rangnick.

Although he is short of game-time, the 24-year-old midfielder is still a highly sort after midfielder in the transfer market. Apart from Everton, Patrick Viera’s Crystal palace are also in pursuit for his signature. Everton is desperate to bring in a quality midfielder before Monday night’s transfer deadline as Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tom Davies and Fabian Delph are sidelined with injuries.
