Yuzvendra Chahal snapped up by Royals for Rs 6.5 crore, Kuldeep Yadav goes to Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Yuzvendra Chahal and Rahul Chahar got moderate bids in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction while Kuldeep Yadav went to Delhi Capitals.

The fast bowlers enjoyed a field day in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. However, the spinners did not get much success. Adil Rashid and Adam Zampa were ignored. Kuldeep Yadav got a low bid at Rs 2 crore as he went to Delhi Capitals. Rahul Chahar was the highest bid in this section. Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals jumped into the fray for acquiring Rahul Chahar. At the last moment, Mumbai Indians jumped in. In the end, he went to Punjab Kings for Rs 5.25 crore. Even Yuzvendra Chahal, an IPL stalwart, also did not get big bids. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals bid for Chahal. After a hectic bid, Yuzvendra Chahal went to Mumbai Indians for Rs 5.75 crore. There was an awkward moment when veteran Amit Mishra went unsold.

The capped fast bowling set in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction had a field day. Players like Deepak Chahar, Prasidh Krishna, and Lockie Ferguson all had excellent pay days. Deepak Chahar was involved in an intense bidding war between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. In the end, Chennai Super Kings acquired the pace bowler’s services. Prasidh Krishna, who excelled in India vs West Indies series, was in an intense bidding war with Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, and Rajasthan Royals. In the end, Prasidh Krishna went for Rs 10 crore to the Royals.

Fast Bowlers Rewarded in IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Lockie Ferguson was the next bowler and he also was bid for in a big way by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants. He was bid heavily and he went to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore. Josh Hazlewood got bids from Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians jumped in after the preceding two teams dropped out. Royal Challengers Bangalore also ventured in. Hazlewood then went to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 7.75 crore.

Ishan Kishan Breaks the Bank in IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Ishan Kishan was rapidly bid for by Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. His price went past Rs 8 crore rapidly and the bidding became intense. In the end, Ishan Kishan ended up with a whopping Rs 15.25 crore and he went to Mumbai Indians. He became the highest bid player in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. After Ishan Kishan, Jonny Bairstow was bid and he had good calls from Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the end, Bairstow went to Punjab Kings for Rs 6.75 crore.

Wanindu Hasaranga In the Rs 10 Crore Club

Krunal Pandya, the elder brother of Hardik Pandya, will be part of the Lucknow Super Giants franchise for IPL 2022. He was bought for Rs 8.25 crore by the franchise. At one point, Krunal Pandya would have played alongside his brother Hardik Pandya for the Gujarat Titans.

But, at the last moment, Krunal Pandya was snapped up by Lucknow Super Giants. Mitchell Marsh, the penultimate name in the all-rounder list, was bid for by Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals jumped in. In the end, Delhi Capitals acquired Mitchell Marsh for Rs 6.5 crore.

Harshal Patel was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10.75 crore. After an intense bidding war with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore got his services. Harshal Patel was the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2021 with 32 wickets. This was the joint-most by any bowler in the history of the IPL, level with Dwayne Bravo who took 32 wickets in the 2013 edition. Harshal Patel has been in tremendous form lately and this price is an indication of the progress that he has made.
