Deepak Chahar Goes to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 Crore, Prasidh Krishna to Royals for Rs 10 Crore in IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Deepak Chahar was one of the best bids in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction as he too breached the Rs 10 crore mark for the pace bowling category.

The IPL 2022 Mega Auction in the evening session saw the fast bowlers getting rewarded. It was Deepak Chahar who stole the show in a big way. Deepak Chahar was bid for by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals. As soon as he crossed Rs 10 crore, Chennai Super Kings jumped in and got his value up. He passed Shreyas Iyer’s mark to become the second-most expensive player in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Rajasthan Royals also jumped in.

The first bowler in the set, T Natarajan, was bid for in an intense way by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. In the end, T Natarajan was taken by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 4 crore. Umesh Yadav was unsold. Prasidh Krishna, the India pacer who impressed in the series against West Indies, had an intense bid from Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants. Even Gujarat Titans jumped in. But, Prasidh Krishna was taken for Rs 10 crore by Rajasthan Royals.

The IPL 2022 Mega Auction saw an intense battle for the wicketkeepers, with Ishan Kishan becoming the bank-breaker. After Shreyas Iyer was picked for Rs 12.25 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders, Ishan Kishan stole the show. Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians had an intense battle. Ishan Kishan and Ambati Rayudu were bid in a big way. Ambati Rayudu was the first player to be bid after Matthew Wade was unsold. Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped in but in the end, Rayudu went to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 6.75 crore.

Ishan Kishan Breaks The Bank in IPL 2022

Ishan Kishan was rapidly bid for by Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. His price went past Rs 8 crore rapidly and the bidding became intense. In the end, Ishan Kishan ended up with a whopping Rs 15.25 crore and he went to Mumbai Indians. He became the highest bid player in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. After Ishan Kishan, Jonny Bairstow was bid and he had good calls from Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the end, Bairstow went to Punjab Kings for Rs 6.75 crore.

Dinesh Karthik had a good bidding war with Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the end, Dinesh Karthik went to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 5.5 crore. Wriddhiman Saha, with a base price of Rs 1 crore, went unsold. Sam Billings was also unsold.

Wanindu Hasaranga In the Rs 10 Crore Club

Krunal Pandya, the elder brother of Hardik Pandya, will be part of the Lucknow Super Giants franchise for IPL 2022. He was bought for Rs 8.25 crore by the franchise. At one point, Krunal Pandya would have played alongside his brother Hardik Pandya for the Gujarat Titans. But, at the last moment, Krunal Pandya was snapped up by Lucknow Super Giants. Mitchell Marsh, the penultimate name in the all-rounder list, was bid for by Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals jumped in. In the end, Delhi Capitals acquired Mitchell Marsh for Rs 6.5 crore.

Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lanka legpsinner, was part of an intense bid between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings. Royal Challengers Bangalore jumped in at the end. This resulted in the Sri Lanka legspinner breaking the bank for IPL 2022 Mega Auction. However, Hasaranga had Rs 10.25 crore and the bid was with Royal Challengers Bangalore. But, a medical emergency halted the auction. After a break of 80 minutes, the auction resumed.
