Quinton De Kock, a professional cricketer who represents the South African cricket team Internationally. Quinton has played in all three of the game’s formats for his country. He is presently the Titans’ domestic cricket player. Quinton had won player of the year at South Africa’s annual awards presentation in 2017. He is a left-handed batsman and full-time wicket-keeper. He usually opens the innings in all the formats. He is renowned for putting runs on the board quickly. Quinton made his Highveld Lions debut in the 2012–13 domestic cricket season. Quinton signed a contract with Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL’s 2022 season. While playing against Kolkata Knight Riders, he recorded his second IPL hundred. Quinton made his One Day International (ODI) debut for South Africa against New Zealand on January 19, 2013. Later that year, he was chosen to play against Pakistan in UAE, where he played the match-winning innings and scored his first ODI century. Quinton got another century during India’s tour of South Africa in the ODI, scoring 135 runs to help his team win the game. He had the honor of being named the game’s man of the match for his amazing performance. Along with a few other players, he became the fastest batsman to reach 1000 runs in an ODI in August 2014 while playing against Zimbabwe.
At St. George’s Oval, Quinton played his first Test match against Australia in February 2014. He reached 150 dismissals in Test cricket in the quickest time ever when playing against Sri Lanka in July 2018. Despite South Africa losing the T20 series against Australia in March 2014, Quinton was selected player of the series. He was selected in South Africa’s team for the 2021 ICC T20 cricket world cup. In a T20 International (T20I) game against the West Indies on March 26, 2023, Quinton achieved his maiden century. He recorded South Africa’s quickest half-century in the same match, reaching 50 in just 15 balls. Quinton De Kock is now considered as one of the most destructive and consistent openers of all the formats of the game.
