Naveen ul Haq a professional player who plays for Afghanistan’s national cricket team internationally. T20 Internationals and One Day Internationals are the two game formats in which Naveen has represented his country. Naveen is a medium-pace bowler with a right arm who specializes in getting wickets. Naveen played his first class debut game for the Kabul region in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day tournament on March 7, 2018. Naveen was acquired by Sylhet Thunders for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season 2019–20 in November of that year. In October 2020, he was chosen by Kandy Tuskers for the inaugural Lanka Premier League (LPL) season. In February 2021, he was signed by Leicestershire ahead of the T20 Blast in England.

In October 2021, Leicestershire Foxes decided not to use Naveen for the English summer of 2022. In June 2022, while playing against Worcestershire in the T20 Blast, Naveen recorded his first 5-fer in T20 cricket. In his four overs, he gave 11 runs while taking 5 wickets. Naveen was chosen by the Lucknow Super Giants in December 2022 for the 2023 Indian Premier League season. He has participated in four games of the Indian Premier League (IPL) thus far and has claimed seven wickets. On April 19, 2023, he faced the Rajasthan Royals in his first IPL game. With an economy rate of just 4.75 in 4 overs, he has the team’s best economy rate. He had a hot talk with Virat Kohli following their game on May 1 against RCB.
Naveen’s first One Day International (ODI) game came against Bangladesh on May 25, 2016. He previously served as the captain of Afghanistan’s under-19 team in the 2016 Asia Cup and also played for the under-19 Afghanistan team in the world cup. On January 19, 2017, Naveen made his T20 debut for Afghanistan against Namibia in the Desert T20 Challenge. He was chosen for the 2019 Bangladesh tri series T20 team by Afghanistan.
