Sikandar Raza, a professional cricketer who plays for Zimbabwe’s national cricket team Internationally. Sikandar is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-spin bowler. He is a full time all round cricketer. Sikandar was born on April 24, 1986 in the Punjab province of Pakistan. In the year 2002, he moved to Zimbabwe with his family. There, he started playing cricket and gained attention for his remarkable skills in domestic cricket. Sikandar obtained Zimbabwean citizenship in 2011. He relocated from Zimbabwe to Scotland to pursue his education, where he also played professional cricket and discovered his own talent as a player.
In Zimbabwe’s first class cricket, Sikandar began playing for Mashonaland Eagles. On April 12, 2007, in the Logan Cup, he made his Notherns debut in first class against the Eastherns. In first-class cricket, his top most score is 146 runs. He began playing List A cricket with Northerns at first, but was eventually moved to Mashonaland Eagles. He made his T20 debut in 2010 while playing for Southern Rocks against the Desert Vipers. On June 3, 2018, Montreal Tigers picked Sikandar for the inaugural Global T20 Canada League. Tshwane Spartand acquired his services in October 2018 in order to compete in the Mzansi Super League’s debut season.

Sikandar was acquired by Chittagong Viking for the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). In July 2020, he joined the Trinbago Knight Riders, a Caribbean Premier League team. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Zimbabwe against Bangladesh in 2013, becoming the nation’s first outsider player. On September 3, 2013, he played his first Test match against Pakistan at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe. Sikandar, who plays for Zimbabwe, holds the record for most runs scored in an ODI innings while chasing. By scoring 141 points against Afghanistan in 2014, he helped his team win the match and the series. He was named man of the match for his outstanding performance. After Jacques Kallis, Sikandar is the first player to have two fifty-plus scores and five wickets taken in the same Test innings.
After a very long break since 2013, Zimbabwe won the opening match of a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh. Sikandar helped his team win the game by scoring 135 runs without being out. After playing one of the best innings in ODI history, he was chosen man of the match. Sikandar’s yet another century helped Zimbabwe defeat Bangladesh in their second game. He was honored with the man of the series title. Sikandar joined Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli on the list of players who scored the most hundreds in ODI while chasing in one year. Sikandar currently competes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Punjab Kings. On April 1st, 2023, he faced KKR in his first game. On April 15, 2023, against LSG, he scored his first half century for PBKS and grabbed two wickets.
