Craig was born on August 19, 1985, in the Harare city of Zimbabwe. Craig presently serves as the ODI and T20 International (T20I) captain for Zimbabwe. Craig is a left-handed batter who has the potential to score runs over time. Craig participated in the Logan Cup for numerous domestic Zimbabwean teams.
Craig was chosen to play for Zimbabwe in the 2010 ICC T20 World Cup despite him being an uncapped player. He made his debut on May 3, 2010, however the rain canceled the group stage match against Sri Lanka. Craig played his first ODI match against India in the 2010 Zimbabwe Micromax Tri Nation series. He helped his team reach the target by scoring 67 runs in 60 balls while remaining unbeaten. After 18 months of playing club cricket in various locations, Craig made the decision to return to Zimbabwe and play for the country internationally once more. He later joined Zimbabwe’s squad to compete in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia. Craig and Brendon Taylor created Zimbabwe’s record fourth wicket partnership in a limited overs game, totaling 94 runs, during a world cup match against India. On August 2, 2015, Craig struck 130 runs in an ODI match against New Zealand to assist his team chase down the enormous total. Craig and Sean Williams scored 111 runs against Ireland for Zimbabwe, setting a T20I record for the third wicket partnership of Zimbabwe. In January 2020, Craig scored his 1000th Test cricket run during a Test match against Sri Lanka.
