Alzarri Joseph was born on 20 November 1996 and he is an Antiguan cricketer who plays for the West Indies in Tests and ODIs as well. He plays for the Leeward Islands and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in West Indian domestic cricket as well. He is an all-rounder who is a right-arm fast bowler and a right-handed batter who was selected by the five-times champion Mumbai Indians franchise as a replacement for Adam Milne for the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. In 2016, he was named the Antigua and Barbuda Sportsman of the Year award as well.
In July 2016, he was included in the West Indies Test squad against India. He made his Test debut on 9 August 2016 in the third match of the series as well. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for the West Indies against Pakistan on 2 October 2016 as well. In October 2018, Cricket West Indies (CWI) awarded him a contract for all three formats in the 2018–19 season. However, he smashed his maiden Test fifty on 5th December 2020, scoring 86 runs against New Zealand.
In June 2022, Alzarri Joseph was added to the West Indies Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Bangladesh as well. He was also named in the West Indies T20I squad against India where he made his T20I debut on 29 July 2022 as well.
Alzarri Joseph made his IPL debut against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and registered the figures of 6/12, the best bowling figures for a debutant, beating Andrew Tye’s 5/17 in 2017 as well. These were also the best bowling figures in the IPL, breaking the eleven-year-old record by Sohail Tanvir (6/14) and the second-best T20 bowling figures after Deepak Chahar (6/7) as well. He also became only the second player to take a fifer on IPL debut, after Andrew Tye as well. However, he was released by the Mumbai Indians before the 2020 IPL auction. And, in February 2022, Gujarat Titans bought him in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament as well.
