Wriddhiman Saha is a professional cricketer, who represents India Internationally. He is a right handed batsman and a very talented wicket keeper. He belongs to the Siliguri region of the West Bengal state, India. In domestic cricket Saha plays for Tripura and in Indian Premier League he is currently playing for defending champions Gujarat Titans. He was born on 24 October, 1984. In the Indian Premier League, he became the first player to score a century in the finals. Before playing first class cricket, he played in under 190 and under 22 teams. It was against Assam, when Saha played his One Day debut match in Ranji Trophy tournament.

Saha got signed by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008, a franchise in Indian Premier League (IPL) after his outstanding performance in first class cricket. Saha scored 111 runs and remained not out on his debut match in first class cricket in 2007-08 against Hyderabad. Saha holds the record of hitting the fastest century in domestic cricket by any cricketer, hitting 102 runs in just 20 balls which includes 14 sixes and 4 fours. In a replacement of Dinesh Karthik as a wicket keeper, Saha was included in the Indian Test team for their series against South Africa on 28 January, 2010. At the very last moment, when VVS Laxman and Rohit Sharma both were injured, Saha got the opportunity to play his debut Test match against South Africa.

Saha was selected for the 2013 Indian Test team for the series against South Africa, then in February 2014 for the series against New Zealand, but didn’t get the chance to play. Against Australia on 9 December, 2014 he played in the Test match right after 2012. Saha is known for his wicket keeping abilities, and that was seen in a series against South Africa in 2019. He took many unbelievable catches. It was in 2010 in a series against New Zealand, when Saha played his One Day International (ODI). He was also part of the 2014 Bangladesh tour, but did not perform well. The last time Saha played ODI for India was back in the year 2014 in a series against Sri lanka.

Saha debuted in the Indian Premier League back in 2011 for Kolkata Knight Riders. In the 2011 season of IPL he was signed by Chennai Super Kings. He played for CSK in 2012 and 2013. In the 2014 IPL auction he was bought by Kings Eleven Punjab and in the finals against KKR he scored a century, but still his team didn’t win. He was selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018, for the 2019 IPL season. Then in 2022, he was signed by Gujarat Titans. Saha won 2 IPL seasons, one with CSK back in 2011 and one with GT in 2022. Saha had a vast International, Domestic and IPL career. He has marked himself in the books of cricket as one of the finest wicket keepers and a batsman on which his team can rely on.
