Roston Chase is a Barbadian cricketer who currently plays for the West Indies. He was born 22 March 1992 and used to represent his home country of Barbados in cricket. Roston is a batting allrounder. He bats with right-hand and bowls right-arm off spin. He was honored by the West Indies Players’ Association as Cricketer of the Year and Test Cricketer of the Year in July 2017. Roston made his senior debut for Barbados at the age of 18 during the 2010-11 Regional Four Day Tournament from Christ Church Parish. He did not play again, two matches after his debut until the 2012-13 season. Although he became regular and was a part of the team since then.

In the season 2014-15 Roston made his first-class debut and scored his first century. He scored 120 runs not out from 241 balls against the Windward Islands. He was placed fourth for Barbados and seventh overall after ending the season with 534 runs from eight matches. Roston’s dominance continued in the 2015-16 season as he was chosen man of the match against the Leeward Islands. He scored 136 runs not out in his team’s first innings. At the annual Cricket West Indies Awards in June 2018, Roston  was selected as the Best Regional Limited-Overs Cricketer of the Year. He was selected one of five players to watch in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League before the event.

The West Indies selectors chose Roston for their Test series against India in July 2016. On July 21, 2016, he made his West Indies Test debut. It was the first time he pulled up his five-wicket haul against a strong Indian batting line-up. He also struck a century in his second Test match against a powerful Indian bowling attack. After that Roston was selected in the West Indies One Day International (ODI) team for their series against Afghanistan in June 2017. On June 9, 2017, he made his ODI debut for the West Indies against Afghanistan. Roston against England on January 26, 2019 in the fourth innings of the first Test match in Barbados, took 8 wickets for 60 runs and also made 54 runs .

Roston was selected as one of 10 reserve players by Cricket West Indies (CWI) in the West Indies team for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in May 2019. Roston was again selected in the West Indies Test team for their series against England in June 2020. Initially the Test series was supposed to begin in May 2020, however it was pushed back to July 2020 because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Roston was then selected in the West Indies’ Twenty20 International (T20I) team for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September 2021. He made his T20I debut for the West Indies against Bangladesh on October 29, 2021. Roston has played a total of 88 International matches including all the 3 formats. His best performance till now has been seen in Test cricket. In the batting department, he has scored 2265 runs in 90 innings of 49 Test matches. His bowling figures are also considerable, as he has taken 85 wickets in 72 innings with an economy of 3.45.
