Rahul Tewatia is a professional cricketer, who belongs to faridabad city of state Haryana, India. Tewatia was born on 20 May 1993. He currently represents franchise Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. He plays for Haryana state in domestic cricket in several tournaments. Tewatia is an all-arounder who can contribute in both batting and bowling. He bowls right-arm leg spin and bats left-handed. Tewatia got his first call-up to the Indian national team before India’s domestic T20 series against England in 2021. December 6, 2013, when Tewatia played his Ranji Trophy debut match for Haryana against Karnataka at the Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium. 

It was on February 25, 2017, he played his List A debut match for Haryana in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Tewatia, twice got the chance to play for the team, he managed to score 17 runs only. It was in 2014 when Rahul Tewatia played his debut match for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Tewatia was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals in the auction that took place before the 2014 Indian Premier League. Moreover, he played for Rajasthan Royals in the 2014 IPL and made his T20 debut. He was signed by the Kings XI Punjab franchise in February 2017 in the auction that took place for the upcoming Indian Premier League.

It was in January 2018, when he was signed by the Delhi Daredevils, which is currently known as the Delhi Capitals, during the 2018 IPL season. At the time of 2019 Indian Premier League season, Tewatia established a joint record for the most catches taken by a non-wicket keeper in any Innings of IPL 2019. He took 4 wickets on the field. He was again moved back to the Rajasthan Royals in November 2019 as he was bought by RR just before the 2020 Indian Premier League’s auction.  In the 18th over of the match against Kings XI Punjab on September 27, 2020, Tewatia showed his batting skills. He smashed five sixes to Sheldon Cottrell in one over, tying Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes hit in an IPL over. The 224-run target was successfully chased by his team with his 53 runs in just 31 balls, setting a new record for the highest run chase in Indian Premier League history.

Seeing Tewatia’s performances in previous IPL’s every other franchise wanted to have him in their team. He was purchased by the Gujarat Titans in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition in February 2022. He proved his valuable presence in the team when he smashed 2 consecutive sixes on the final two balls of a game on April 8, 2022, against the Punjab Kings, helping the Gujarat Titans earn their third victory of the season. He was included in the Twenty20 International (T20I) team for India’s series against England in February 2021. Tewatia is undoubtedly considered as one of the players who has the capability to change the game for instance.
