Quinton De Kock is a professional cricketer, who plays for South African national team. Quinton has represented his national team in all the three formats of the game. He currently represents Titans in domestic cricket. In the 2017 annual awards ceremony of South Africa, Quinton was named as player of the year. He is a full time wicket keeper and a left handed batsman who opens the innings. He is known for scoring runs in quick succession. During the 2012-13 domestic cricket season, Quinton played his debut match for Highveld Lions. He was ranked 4th in first class cricket, after playing just 6 out of 10 matches in the season. 

Quinton was born on 17 December 1992 in Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa. Quinton scored 95 runs in the very first match of 2012 ICC under 19 world cup against Bangladesh. In April 2021, he was selected by Northerns prior to the 2021-22 cricketing season in South Africa. Quinton’s first team in Indian Premier League (IPL) was Sunrisers Hyderabad, as they bought him in 2013 IPL auctions. In 2014, he was acquired by Delhi Daredevils. He played for DD til 2017, before getting signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Later in the 2019 season, he was signed by Mumbai Indians. In the first edition of The Hundred, he was signed by Southern Brave, where he became the highest run scorer of the team.

In the 2022 season of IPL, Quinton was signed by Lucknow Super Giants. He scored his 2nd hundred of IPL while playing against Kolkata Knight Riders. It was on 19 January 2013, when Quinton played his One Day International (ODI) debut match for South Africa against New Zealand. Later in the year, he was selected to play against Pakistan in UAE, where he played a match winning knock, scoring his first ever ODI hundred. In India’s tour of South Africa, Quinton scored another century in the ODI, where he scored 135 runs and made his team win the match. He was awarded with the title of man of the match for his outstanding performance. In August 2014, while playing against Zimbabwe, he became the fastest batsman to reach 1000 runs in ODI along with few other players.

Against Australia in February 2014, Quinton played his debut Test match at St. George’s Oval. While playing against Sri Lanka in July 2018, he became the fastest wicket keeper to get 150 dismissals in Test cricket. In a T20 series against Australia in March 2014, Quinton was named as player of the series, despite South Africa losing the series. He became part of South Africa’s team for the ICC T20 cricket world cup of 2021. It was on 26 March 2023, while playing against West Indies. Quinton scored his first hundred in T20 Internationals (T20I). In the same game, he scored the fastest half century in South Africa, scoring 50 in just 15 balls.
