Pathum Nissanka made his ODI, Test and T20I debut when Sri Lanka toured the West Indies in 2021. He made his T20I debut in the match in Coolidge, his ODI and Test debut in North Sound, Antigua. In only his second Test innings, he scored a century and helped Sri Lanka win the game from a precarious situation.
