Born on February 7, 1990, in Durban, South Africa to Atmanand and Kanchan Mala, Keshav Maharaj is a talented cricketer known for his skills as a left-arm orthodox bowler and a left-handed lower-order batsman. Maharaj represents the Dolphins in domestic cricket and proudly represents the Proteas in international cricket. Maharaj began his cricket career at a young age and represented Natal Schools in the Under-19 level. At just 18 years old, he made his debut for the Dolphins in first-class cricket. He immediately showcased his talent by taking six wickets in his very first match.

Maharaj seamlessly integrated into the Dolphins team, earning himself a permanent spot and even being awarded the title of Player of the Year in 2013. Not only that, but he also accomplished his List A and T20 debuts for the Dolphins during that same remarkable year. Maharaj made his international debut for South Africa in 2015 during a Test match against India in Nagpur. In that match, he showed impressive skills by taking three wickets, including the important dismissal of Virat Kohli.

Maharaj has solidified his place as a consistent member of the South African Test team. He is renowned for his precision, command, and stamina on the bowling pitch, often delivering extended spells.
