Klein is a fast right-arm medium bowler and a low-lying batsman. Klein started playing cricket at a young age and represented the Western Provinces Cricket Association at youth level. He made his first class for Western Province in October 2019 and made his List-A debut the same month.
In May 2021, Klein was named in the Netherlands A team to tour Ireland. He made his One-Day International (ODI) debut for the Netherlands in Afghanistan in February 2022 and his T20I debut against New Zealand in February 2022 Klein previously captained Western Province in the 2019–20 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup. He took 3 wickets in the first game and finished the season with 19 wickets in 8 matches.
