Amit Mishra is a professional cricketer, who has represented India Internationally in all the formats of the game. He is a right arm leg spin bowler, who is known for his wicket taking abilities. Amit, in domestic cricket plays for Haryana in Ranji Trophy. He was part of the Indian team that won the Champions Trophy back in 2013. He was born on 24 November, 1982 in Delhi. He was included in the roster for the Test series against West Indies back in 2002, but didn’t get selected in the team. He is still playing in Indian Premier League (IPL) and representing Lucknow Super Giants as their lead spin bowler.

It was against Australia, Amit played his debut Test match, when Anil Kumble was out due to injury. He had an outstanding first Test match of his career, as he grabbed a total of 7 wickets in the match. Amit got his place fixed in India’s Test team when Anil Kumble retired after the third Test against Australia. Amit played a Test match against Bangladesh and grabbed 7 wickets and also scored 50 runs. In the year 2011, Amit got to play a Test match against England and scored his highest Test score of 84. He was selected for the West Indies tour in 2016, where he took 6 wickets in 2 Test matches. Amit had a considerable stats in Test cricket, however he didn’t get to play more than 22 Test matches in his career.

Harbhajan got the rest for two matches, which created an opportunity for Amit to play two One Day Internationals (ODI) against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. He was named as man of the match for his outstanding performance against Zimbabwe. He grabbed 4 wickets and gave 47 runs. It was against South Africa in 2003, when Amit Mishra got to play his debut ODI match. Amit has the record of taking most wickets in a series, with 18 wickets in just 5 matches against Zimbabwe. He was named as man of the series for the series played between India and New Zealand. He managed to take 15 wickets in just 5 matches. In 2018-19 he was the top wicket taking bowler for Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Amit Mishra had an outstanding bowling career in the IPL right from the beginning. He is the only bowler in the IPL history to take 3 hat tricks. He holds the record of eliminating a single batsman most number of times and that is Rohit Sharma. Amit has played a total of 68 International matches for team India including all the three formats of the game. He has taken 64 wickets in his 34 matches of ODI career. In T20I he has managed to take 16 wickets in just 10 matches. His best figures are in Test cricket, as he has taken 76 wickets in just 22 test matches. Amit Mishra despite having such outstanding bowling figures didn’t play much for Indian national side, however he still plays in IPL for Lucknow Super Giants.
