The second T20 Blast semi-final took place at the same venue (Edgbaston), where Somerset beat Surrey by 24 runs in a low-scoring match as well. After Surrey won the toss and asked Somerset to bat first, Tom Banton and Will Smeed got Somerset off to a flying start. However, regular wickets in between, with Sean Abbott being the main destructor, picking up four wickets as well. However, a cameo by Sean Dixon and good support from Matt Henry helped Somerset put up a total of 142-7 as well. However, Surrey’s chase never really went well, with Somerset bowling quite impressively by changing their pace as well.

Craig Overton, Ben Green and Matt Henry claimed three wickets each, as Surrey were bundled out for 118 in less than 17 overs, losing the knockout game by 24 runs as well. Meanwhile, Gregory said as quoted by Cricbuzz: “Boys were phenomenal, defending 140-odd was pretty good. Don’t think we were too far away (from a par score). Boys said if we got to 150-plus, we would be in the game. Makes my life easier when you’ve got the calibre of players we’ve got.”

However, the final will be played on the same day at the same venue between Somerset vs Essex as well.

Most Valuable Player (MVP) – Jamie Overton

Jamie Overton was in good form. He faced 6 balls to score 11 and 2 fours as well and helped his side win as tournament as well.

However, after the win, Overton, Player of the Match said as quoted by Cricbuzz: “Always nice to get to the final but one more game to go. Have to get the job done. Batters came and said it was up and down, so we tried to bang it into the pitch. They’re a dangerous team – destructive with the bat and good with the ball.”
