The 20th match of the Women’s Hundred 2023 will see the Welsh Fire Women play against the Trent Rockets Women at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Monday, August 14. The Welsh Fire Women’s first match was washed out due to rain. They won three matches back to back since then but faced a loss in their last match against the Southern Brave Women as well. However, they will be hoping to get back to the winning zone in their upcoming match on Monday as well. Notably, Sophia Dunkley (50) and Sarah Bryce (44*), helped the side to post 144 on the board against the Southern Brave Women. The game went down the wire and the Fire Women failed to win the game as well.
The Trent Rockets Women, on the other hand, managed to grab their first win of the Women’s Hundred 2023 in their last match as well when they beat the London Spirit at the iconic Lord’s. They have three points now under their belt and they will be looking to carry forward the winning momentum in their next match as well. However, Kirstie Gordon picked up two wickets as it helped the Rockets Women restrict the Spirit Women to 124/4 as well. In reply, skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt put up a stunning show with the bat as she smashed 81* off just 41 balls to take her side to the finish line with 13 balls in hand to win the game by five wickets as well.
