The London Spirit Women will play against the Trent Rockets Women in the 16th match of the Women’s Hundred 2023 competition at the Lord’s in London on Saturday (August 12). However, the London Spirit Women’s first two games were washed out due to rain. They finally got a game against the Southern Brave Women on Tuesday. It turned out to be a thrilling contest, where they failed to finish on the winning side as well. In a rain-curtailed match of 85 balls per side, the Spirit posted 104 on the board, where 44 came from skipper Heather Knight. Sarah Glenn picked up three wickets but it wasn’t enough for them as the Spirit Women failed to defend the total.
The Trent Rockets Women, on the other hand, are struggling in this year’s competition. They faced a loss against the Southern Brave Women in their campaign opener. Their next fixture was abandoned before they lost to the Northern Superchargers Women in their most recent game as well. The bowlers did a good job of restricting the Superchargers’ Women to 134/4 as well. In reply, Bryony Smith played a stunning knock of 70 off 44 balls at the top of the order. After her dismissal, other batters failed as they fell short of the target by nine runs as well. They will be hoping to win in their upcoming fixture.

The Lord’s will offer a balanced track, with equal assistance to both batters and bowlers. Once the batters set their eyes in the middle, they can start playing their shots freely as well. However, bowlers need to bowl at the right line and length as well. Meanwhile, the temperatures are expected to be between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius as well.
