The 14th match of the third edition of the Women’s Hundred 2023 tournament will see the Birmingham Phoenix Women play against the Welsh Fire Women at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Birmingham Phoenix Women are currently struggling and they have lost two games so far, with one game washed out due to rain. They faced a loss against the Manchester Originals Women in their last game as well. Sophie Devine top-scored with 27 but a lack of contributions from the other batters saw them managed only 87. The bowlers tried their best but the Originals emerged victorious with five wickets to spare at the end.
Welsh Fire, on the other hand, are having a great time in the Women’s Hundred 2023. After the washout of their opening game, they won their next two matches and have two points in their name as well. They beat the Oval Invincibles Women in their last game as well. The Fire bowlers bowled brilliantly and restricted the Invincibles Women to a below-par total of 80, with Shabnim Ismail finishing with three scalps as well. Georgia Elwiss then top-scored with 33 as they chased down the total with 20 balls in hand.

The deck at Edgbaston in Birmingham helps the bowlers. The new-ball bowlers will get the movement off the surface and the batters will have to struggle initially. However, the temperatures are expected to be between 14 and 24 degrees Celsius.
